September 12, 2-4 PM, CSiPhone and iPad Basics - This fall marks the fifth term that we have offered Senior Tech Time at the Community Services. If you haven’t been involved previously, this is the perfect getting started class where we explore iPhone and iPad basics and introduce you to the Senior Tech Club online site where you can access materials and videos for all of the previous topics that have been covered over the last 2 years. September 19, 2-4 PMManage and organize your photos - You might have thousands of photos that you have taken with your device. In this session we’ll explore the tools and approaches that are available from Apple to keep your growing photo library organized. We will cover albums, searching, shared photos, iCloud and more. We will also overview the tools that you can use to edit your photos. October 24, 2-4 PMTen iPhone Hidden Features - Your iPhone has dozens of features and nuggets that often go unused by users. And many of them like the Magnifier or Parked Car are perfect for seniors. Best of all you can help decide which ten hidden features we explore in this session. Register two days or more before class and we’ll send you a ballot where you can vote on the nuggets that we explore during this session from a catalog of over 30 found on the Senior Tech Club website. November 14, 2-4 PMIOS 12 - What’s new? - Apple has announce that IOS 12, the next major release of the Apple software for your iPhones and iPads can be expected this fall. The new version contains a number of new features that may be very interesting for seniors. Improved performance, smarter Siri, group FaceTime and revamped Books and News were among the announcements made by Apple in June. Come to this session to explore what’s new. SeniorTechClub.com - Between session, you will have free access to the resources found on the SeniorTechClub.com website. There you will find lessons specifically developed for Seniors. Use the online site to catch up and explore new topics. Register for any Senior Tech Time class and access is included for free. What should you bring? ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Don Frederiksen is a St. Anthony resident who spent 35 years as an IT professional; he traveled the country teaching people about data and leading teams developing data systems. He began his career as a school band director but discovered personal computers in their early days and never looked back. Now, decades later, Don sees his peers often struggle with technology and has created an online Seniortechclub.com as a resource for seniors who want to stay connected and engaged with technology. This is Don’s 3rd year in instructing our community about the use of iPhones and iPads.
